Feeding America
Feeding America’s mission is to feed America's hungry and engage the United States in the fight to end hunger. Heeren has supported Feeding America for over 30 years in a joint effort to feed children, seniors, and other hungry people in America as well as eliminate food waste. Feeding America is a nationwide network of 200 food banks and the nation's leading domestic hunger-relief charity. Together, it provides nutritious food to more than 46 million people through 60,000 food pantries and meal programs.
Kids Food Basket
Heeren has supported the Kids’ Food Basket for over 10 years. Kids’ Food Basket is a nonprofit organization attacking childhood hunger to help young people learn and live well. KFB began over a decade ago by serving 125 kids each school day through our Sack Supper program and now serve nearly 7,500 kids each weekday in West Michigan. Sack Suppers are evening meals that provide a well-rounded nutritious meal —nutrition that’s critical to the development of kids’ brains and bodies.
United Way
The United Way’s mission is to unite community resources to invest in solutions that reduce poverty, promote education, and support health and well being. The United Way is a network of more than 1,300 United Ways across the nation, each of which is autonomous and independently governed by its own, local Board of Directors. Heeren has supported the United Way of West Michigan for 2 years through charitable giving, adopting families for the holidays, and promoting healthy food choices with children. The United Way convene and collaborate with other organizations throughout West Michigan to advance the common good, direct change, and create opportunities for a good life for all who live and work here.
